Emily Carr, Canada's most famous female painter, lived from 1872 to 1945 on the West Coast of Canada. She gained fame painting the indigenous people and the Pacific Northwest landscape. During her life, she had shows with Georgia O'Keefe and Frida Kahlo. Books and movies about the three artists as a group of highly successful female artists are still being written.
